Advance your culinary knowledge in this 2 week intensive without committing to our 12-week professional course. Learn all the essential principles of baking and pastry on a professional level.

In this course you will learn:

  • Quick breads and yeast breads
  • Pies, galettes, pastries, cookies
  • Cakes and frostings
  • Sugars and chocolates
  • Leaveners and baking at high altitudes
  • Custards and puddings
  • Differences in batters and doughs

Monday through Friday are hands-on, in person. Limited seats are available so that we can ensure that you are receiving the individual attention necessary for an intensive course. All course materials will be provided.

After completion of this week-long intensive course, you will receive a certificate of completion and credit towards this portion of our 12-week professional culinary course.

*Please arrive on time in comfortable attire and closed toe shoes, face masks are required.

*Please note:  All purchases are nonrefundable.  Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours notice in order to  reschedule your reservation.  If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed.  If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.

Your health and safety are extremely important to us.

We are taking every precaution to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen and classroom environment. We regularly clean and disinfect our facility throughout the day and class sizes are currently limited to practice proper distancing. All staff is required to wear a face mask. We are doing everything we can to keep our guests and SLICE team safe, and are asking for your help with these additional precautions:

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
