Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the https://sliceutah.com/ website (the “Service”) operated by Salt Lake Culinary Center (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service. This Terms & Conditions agreement is licensed by TermsFeed to Salt Lake Culinary Education.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2021

Waiver of Liability and Release for Salt Lake Culinary Education cooking classes.  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE HAVE THEM ANSWERED BEFORE AGREEING TO THE DOCUMENT.  Reservation and cancellation policy: PAYMENT IN FULL is required at time of registration online, or in store, by credit, cash, check or gift certificate.  Payments will be processed at time of registration. All purchases are nonrefundable.  Salt Lake Culinary Education requires 72 hours notice in order to reschedule your reservation.  If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed.  If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.  If Salt Lake Culinary Education cancels a class due to low enrollment or other extenuating circumstances, all participants will be notified to arrange for a credit towards another class or given a refund.  Salt Lake Culinary Education may have to substitute food items based on availability.

Participation Waiver for Adults & Minors

In consideration of being permitted to participate in Salt Lake Culinary Education cooking classes, I, the participant, am in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and risks inherent in such activities related to preparing food and working with tools and appliances, l do hereby waive, release, and forever discharge Salt Lake Culinary Education, it instructors, officers, agents, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all claims, demands, action or causes of action for costs, expenses or damages to personal property or personal injury, or death, which may result from my participation or child participation in these activities.  I understand and admit that my participation or child’s participation in Salt Lake Culinary Education’s cooking classes and demonstrations is voluntary.  I assume full responsibility for any injuries or damages resulting from my participation or child’s participation in this program including responsibility for using reasonable judgement in all phases of participation of the program and travel to and from the cooking location. I recognize and understand that the activities may be hazardous, that my participation or child’s participation is solely at my own risk, and that I assume full responsibility for any resulting injuries and damages.  I affirm that I am in good health.  I further declare that I am physically fit and capable to participate in such activities.

Acknowledgement of Risks for Minors

I understand that my child will be exposed to a variety of foods. I understand there are numerous inherent risks associated with participating in any cooking activities, including but not limited to using sharp knives, operating hot stove, boiling liquid, hot oil, oven, and operating kitchen equipment. I give permission for my child to participate in all cooking activities, including those described above. I acknowledge and assume the risks involved in these cooking activities, for any damage, illness and injuries resulting from such risks. There are no physical, emotional or mental problems or limitations associated with my child’s participation in cooking class activities except as disclosed by me in writing to the Salt Lake Culinary Education.

Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnification for Minors

I, on behalf of my child, hereby release and waive any claim or prospective claim of liability by my child or by me on behalf of my child, against the Salt Lake Culinary Education, their employees and agents, with respect to any injuries, illness, damage or death occurring to my child while he or she participates in any and all cooking activities.

Alcohol Waiver

I acknowledge that the wine or beer course I am taking at Salt Lake Culinary Education is an educational class designed to increase my knowledge and that the point of the class is not to consume alcohol per se. I acknowledge that the wine/beer provided are for tasting purposes only and that spitting cups are available on request. I acknowledge that I am at least twenty-one (21) years old, and I have provided my instructor with a valid identification showing proof of my age. I agree that my instructor may decline to serve alcohol to me at any time and for any reason. I agree the Salt Lake Culinary Education, its affiliates, employees and independent contractors, including, without limitation, my Instructor, are in no way legally responsible for my behavior during or after the class, and I agree to hold them harmless in all activities or actions that may result from my behavior.

Media release

I consent to and allow any use and reproduction by Salt Lake Culinary Education of any and all photographs, video, or audio media taken of myself or child during their participation in this activity.  I understand that Salt Lake Culinary Education will own the photographs and videotape and the right to use or reproduce such photographs and videotape in any media, as well as the right to edit them or prepare derivative works, for the purposes of promotion, advertising, and public relations.  I hereby consent to this use of myself or child’s name, likeness, or voice, and I agree that such use will not result in any liability for payment to any person or organization, including myself.

Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide us information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service. You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account

Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Salt Lake Culinary Education. Salt Lake Culinary Education has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Salt Lake Culinary Education shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services. We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that you visit.

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.

Changes
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.

Your health and safety are extremely important to us.

We are taking every precaution to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen and classroom environment. We regularly clean and disinfect our facility throughout the day and class sizes are currently limited to practice proper distancing. All staff is required to wear a face mask. We are doing everything we can to keep our guests and SLICE team safe, and are asking for your help with these additional precautions:

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
