Ogden, UT Culinary School culinary school

Ogden, UT is the crossroads between historic and modern innovation. The city was originally established as Fort Buenaventura by the trapper Miles Goodyear in the mid-1940s, making it the first permanent settlement by people of European descent in modern Utah. It has served as a transportation hub since the joining of the First Transcontinental Railroad in 1869, and within the city itself the Ogden Union Station Depot was the heart of the Utah Northern Railroad line.

Modern Ogden is bursting with things to do and see: historic buildings, museums, art galleries, hiking trails, restaurants and shops, farmers’ markets, kayaking, car shows, and skiing. For those who love stepping back in time with a taste of modern comfort, Historic 25th street, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a must-see, as are Peery’s Egyptian Theatre, Union Station, and The Junction.

But Ogden, UT isn’t stuck in the past. Forbes rated the area as America’s 6th best place to raise a family for its educational opportunities, affordability, and low crime rates. The county seat of Weber County, the city sits on the banks of the Weber River and is home to Weber State University; McKay Dee Hospital; the Ogden Nature Center; and The Ice Sheet at Ogden, which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. Best of all, the Salt Lake Culinary Center is only 40 minutes away.
