Teen Chef Academy II
Teen Chef Academy II is multi-date advanced series that is modeled after our professional culinary institute. Teen Chef Academy I is a prerequisite to this course and students must have completed the series to enroll in Teen Chef Academy II.
In this advanced course, students will hone and advance the skills, techniques, and equipment usage learned in Teen Chef Academy I to create three-, four-, or five-course meals during each class. While knife skills will always be emphasized, it will be assumed that students enter this advanced course with their basic knife skills intact and are able to move quickly to more advanced and accurate knife cuts. Recipe development, math in the kitchen, and allergy/sensitivity/preference substitutions will be explored in greater depth in this advanced course. Menus may include, but are not limited to: vichyssoise, fricassee, gnocchi, grains, poached fish, browned butter, handmade cheese, advanced sauces, roulade, crème anglaise, frangipane, tarte tatin, chocolate work, and more!
Teen Chef Academy II will include six 5-hour days, a graduation ceremony, a personalized embroidered chef coat and beanie as well as all of the curriculum/learning materials in a customized binder. Best of all the Teen Chefs will get to have their friends and family come to enjoy a graduation ceremony and show off their culinary skills!
Teen Chef Academy II classes will be held on the following dates from 11 am – 4 pm:
Monday – July 15th
Tuesday – July 16th
Wednesday – July 17th
Thursday – July 18th
Friday – July 19th
Saturday – July 20th – Graduation day!
*Teen Chefs will prepare for graduation from 11 AM – 4 PM and the celebration will be held at 4 PM. Each Teen Chef can invite 2 guests.
*Teen Chef Academy II is for Teen Chefs ages 13-18 that have already completed Teen Chef Academy I.
*Please be on time, in comfortable attire and closed-toe shoes.
*Teen Chef Academy is $1,199. Gratuity is not included. The option to add a gratuity for your chef instructors and our team is available at your discretion.
*Please note: All purchases are nonrefundable. Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours’ notice to reschedule your reservation. If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed. If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
