How to Grill the Perfect Steak

Ingredients:
2 (10-12 ounce/1-inch thick) Jones Creek Beef NY Strip Steaks
1⁄4 cup beer
1⁄4 cup Worcestershire
1⁄4 cup soy sauce
1⁄4 cup canola oil, plus extra for grilling
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon chili flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, for seasoning

Instructions:

  1. To make the marinade: whisk together beer, Worcestershire, soy sauce, canola, Dijon, brown sugar, garlic, pepper, Italian seasoning, and chili flakes in a shallow baking dish.
  2. Place steaks in marinade, gently massage, and let marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip steaks over so that both sides marinate evenly.
  3. While steaks marinate on second side, preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to 450-500 degrees over medium-high heat.
  4. After 20 minutes, remove steaks from marinade at gently pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper on both sides and set aside.
  5. To grill the steaks: once grill is hot, oil grates with extra canola oil and place steaks on grill for 4-6 minutes. Flip steaks and grill on second side for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. After grilling on the second side, check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer. If the temperature reaches 125-130 degrees, remove steaks from grill, otherwise continue to grill for another 1-2 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 125-130 degrees.
  7. Transfer steaks to a cutting board and let rest at least 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Using a sharp knife, thinly slice steaks against the grain, serve, and enjoy!
