How to Grill the Perfect Steak
Ingredients:
2 (10-12 ounce/1-inch thick) Jones Creek Beef NY Strip Steaks
1⁄4 cup beer
1⁄4 cup Worcestershire
1⁄4 cup soy sauce
1⁄4 cup canola oil, plus extra for grilling
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon chili flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, for seasoning
Instructions:
- To make the marinade: whisk together beer, Worcestershire, soy sauce, canola, Dijon, brown sugar, garlic, pepper, Italian seasoning, and chili flakes in a shallow baking dish.
- Place steaks in marinade, gently massage, and let marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip steaks over so that both sides marinate evenly.
- While steaks marinate on second side, preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to 450-500 degrees over medium-high heat.
- After 20 minutes, remove steaks from marinade at gently pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper on both sides and set aside.
- To grill the steaks: once grill is hot, oil grates with extra canola oil and place steaks on grill for 4-6 minutes. Flip steaks and grill on second side for another 2-3 minutes.
- After grilling on the second side, check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer. If the temperature reaches 125-130 degrees, remove steaks from grill, otherwise continue to grill for another 1-2 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 125-130 degrees.
- Transfer steaks to a cutting board and let rest at least 10 minutes before slicing.
- Using a sharp knife, thinly slice steaks against the grain, serve, and enjoy!
