Knife Sharpening & Maintenance Workshop – September 21st

Are your kitchen knives yielding less than optimal results?  Did you recently invest in a high quality chef knife and want be able to maintain that pristine cutting edge?  Are you second guessing your angle when you use the honing steel that came with your knife set?  If your answer is yes to any of these questions, our Knife Sharpening and Maintenance class is for you.  You’ll be able to slice those tomatoes paper thin again and your knives will glide through the meats you’re preparing.   

This class is highly informative! You will learn why a knife gets dull and proper techniques to protect the cutting edge.  We will teach you how to use a honing steel and whet stones without wrecking the edge of your knives.  We have top-quality culinary knives, honing steels, and whet stones for you to practice on (you are also welcome to bring your own).  Class size is limited.

*$69 per ticket. Gratuity is not included. The option to add a gratuity for your chef instructor and team is available at your discretion. 

*Please be on time and wear closed-toe shoes.

*Please note:  All purchases are nonrefundable.  Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours notice in order to reschedule your reservation.  If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed.  If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.

Your health and safety are extremely important to us.

We are taking every precaution to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen and classroom environment. We regularly clean and disinfect our facility throughout the day and class sizes are currently limited to practice proper distancing. All staff is required to wear a face mask. We are doing everything we can to keep our guests and SLICE team safe, and are asking for your help with these additional precautions:

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
