Buche de Noel – 5 Hour Cake Workshop December 21st

Join us on a journey into the world of Buche de Noel, which dates back to 1870 and originated in France. It is thought to have come from the tradition of burning a Yule Log (another name for this dessert) on Christmas Eve. Families would take pieces of the remaining log to bring them luck and prosperity in the new year. We hope this cake will do the same for you.
It is a hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to create every element of the Buche de Noel, including some edible decorations for the top! Our expert pastry chef will guide you through mastering seven essential cake making and decorating techniques. These skills can translate to other types of cake and be used throughout a life time of baking.

*Please be on time, wearing closed-toe shoes.

*Class is $145 per ticket. Gratuity is not included. The option to add a gratuity for your chef instructors and our team is available at your discretion. 

*Please note:  All purchases are nonrefundable.  Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours’ notice to reschedule your reservation.  If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed.  If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
