Bartending & Mixology: One-Week Professional Course Spring 2022

SLICE has partnered with Alexi Fisher, Professional Mixologist and Spirits Educator, to bring you an in-depth 5-day course. You will learn the skills and techniques of bartending and the science behind mixology and earn a certificate of completion. Alexi is the owner and founder of The Hammered Copper – Mobile Bartending and the Cocktail Collective. She has worked in the bar industry for 13 years and is eager to share her knowledge. In the course you will learn about the Big 5, the difference between liqueurs and cordials, what has prompted the new flood of non-alcoholic drinks, and so much more!

In this class you will learn:

  • Big 5
  • Liqueurs, Cordials, Aperitifs, Digestifs
  • Wine and Beer
  • Bar & Customer Etiquette
  • Classic Cocktail & Craft Cocktails, Mocktails
  • Bitters, Tinctures, Syrups & Shrubs
  • Garnish Technique
  • DABC Regulations and SIPS and TIPS

Ticket includes course materials: certificate of completion, a full (take home) bar kit, all liquor, mixers, garnish materials, glassware, etc.

*Please arrive on time in comfortable attire and closed toe shoes, face masks are required.
*Class is for ages 21+ and a valid ID is required to attend this course. 

*Please note:  All purchases are nonrefundable.  Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours notice in order to reschedule your reservation.  If you cancel with less than 72 hours before your scheduled class, Salt Lake Culinary Education will NOT provide refunds, credits or class transfers for classes missed.  If this circumstance arises, you are welcome to send someone in your place.

Your health and safety are extremely important to us.

We regularly clean and disinfect our facility throughout the day and class sizes are currently limited to practice proper distancing. All staff is required to wear a face mask. We are doing everything we can to keep our guests and SLICE team safe, and are asking for your help with these additional precautions:

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
