Join us for an advanced cake decorating techniques pop-up class with Khara Westergard of Balsamic Baker! Khara’s cakes have inspired cake artists worldwide on social media, with features on national and international pages and in American Cake Decorating Magazine. She has shared her expertise on multiple morning show segments on KSL Studio and made an appearance on Good Things Utah, and now she’s sharing what she knows about advanced cake decorating technique at SLICE!

In this class you will learn elite level palette knife techniques for beautiful greenery, roses, and the newest in-demand techniques for 3D palette knife flowers. You’ll also paint and embellish with edible paints and dragees. Each student will be provided with all equipment needed for the class and will come away with a decorated 6 inch round, 8 inch tall “dummy cake” to keep for display. More importantly, each student will keep tools and gifts for continued success with the latest in beautiful cake decorating. In-class, each student will be served a delectable savory snack and a delicious piece of cake. Learn new skills, get new tools, have fun in a beautiful facility, and eat cake too!

Your health and safety are extremely important to us.

We are taking every precaution to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen and classroom environment. We regularly clean and disinfect our facility throughout the day and class sizes are currently limited to practice proper distancing. All staff is required to wear a face mask. We are doing everything we can to keep our guests and SLICE team safe, and are asking for your help with these additional precautions:

  • Upon arrival, you will sign in and have your temperature taken at the front desk. Any guests with a temperature over 100 degrees will be asked to go home.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask and gloves during the prep and cooking segments of class. You will be allowed to remove your face mask once you are seated at a dining table.
  • Please wash your hands upon arrival and after touching your phone, your face, door handles, and other surfaces outside of the kitchen.
